The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council represents the membership who strive to improve the conversation around this critically important initiative.
While our community has taken strides to be more inclusive and create awareness and opportunities for all people, we have a very long way to go. In Erie County, 14.5% of people live in poverty, while the national average is 13.1%. We can do better, and we will do better. Many of us have seen the shortfalls in the community and at our own companies; we hope to use those experiences and that knowledge to fill the gaps in WNY. The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is focused on creating jobs and ensuring health and prosperity for all. This committee is committed to ensuring that ALL are represented and that everyone has an opportunity to succeed and build the life they deserve.
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility Chair is Annika Samuels from National Fuel.
We welcome the support of Uniland and Bank of America as thought leaders on this initiative.
