Amherst Chamber of Commerce Strategic Plan
The Amherst Chamber of Commerce has worked diligently to finalize its new Strategic Plan. The final plan is a result of the input of many stakeholders and members.
The five objectives identified for the strategic plan are equally important; they should not be viewed in silos, as each objective is inextricably tied to each other:
– Advancing the Region
– Advocating Public Policy
– Providing Products and Services for Members and Investors
– Ensuring Organizational Stability
– Developing Community Leadership
We will continue to communicate with you on a regular basis as we take the next steps to execute this Strategic Plan. Please view the Prezi to the left to see the complete plan.
What Members Have to Say About the Chamber
"The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is a very dynamic organization in the local community, and very active in the business community. It does a great job of bringing all the right people together to impact change both for our local economy and our workforce. It is my thought that Geico needs to be a part of that as one of the largest employers in Erie County."
- Pionne Corbin
Regional Vice President, GEICO
“The strength of the Chamber is demonstrated by who calls on them. When federal officials need help they call the Amherst Chamber, when state officials need help they call on the Amherst Chamber, when membership organizations need help they call on the Amherst Chamber. The Chamber is seen as a go to resource, whether it’s the policy side, member relations, the Affordable Care Act, or tax issues, the Chamber is seen as a trusted source.”
- Michael Hughes
Senior Vice President, Kaleida Health
“The members of the Board of Directors are very committed to making not only the Amherst Chamber, but the community we live and work in better. There is a lot of influence in the room, there is a lot of discussion of how to strengthen the membership of the Chamber and get away from the old ways of Chambers. We’re trying to encourage the younger people to get involved because that’s the way the business community is heading.”
- Joe Spano
Vice President, Buffalo Office Interiors, Inc.
“It’s nice to be able to meet with other business owners and do business to business interactions. Networking, in that sense, is really great, and the Amherst Chamber has helped us do that. The Business After Hours in particular, are a casual way to talk to people and meet new people in the area, especially other business owners.”
- Michael & Anna Badding
Owners, Badding Bros Farm Markets
“One of the great things about the Amherst Chamber that is kind of unique, is that there are so many different opportunities to get involved depending on what your interests goals are. I really looked at taking advantage of as many of those as I could at the appropriate time. I’ve also attended a lot of different events geared toward different audiences, and it has been a great use of my company’s resources.”
- Rachael Brown
Business Development Executive, Employer Services Corporation
“What the Amherst Chamber does a little differently (from other chambers) is they care about the one person company all the way up to the three, four, five thousand employee companies. So, they serve a larger range of businesses on a different scale. They offer different services and events geared at all different levels of business needs and personal needs. They really showcase a lot of the smaller businesses around our area.”
- Audrey Hall
Owner, Eco Serve Pest Services
“Our business has definitely grown since joining the Chamber, because the Amherst Chamber of Commerce is the biggest and best in town. You’re pooling not only people from Amherst and Williamsville, but from all over Western New York, so if you are a company that can service multiple areas, this chamber is kind of a one-stop-shop to get clients and colleagues from all over.“
- Christopher Billoni
Outside Services Manager, Colvin Cleaners
“This Chamber is in touch with its membership, which I think is unique. The Chamber clearly understands who its members are and what they need from an organization like the Amherst Chamber. With that, the Chamber can be very impactful in what they do for their members, how they serve them, and how they develop relationships with public officials of the business community, and beyond to the elected officials.”
- Mark Gaulin
Vice President, Sales, PCI
"In business it’s all about visibility, and having people know who you are and what you do. There is no better place in Western New York to get business visibility than the Amherst Chamber of Commerce. I’ve met numerous people and acquired many, many new clients through the Chamber. That has made both myself and my employer very happy."
- Tim Kwiatkowski
Vice President Commercial Lending at Bank of Akron
