Ribbon Cuttings

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce provides assistance with the promotion and public relations for ribbon cutting ceremonies and grand openings.  The Chamber will also supply ceremonial scissors, ribbon, and provide the business owner with a proclamation certificate.

Ribbon Cuttings & Grand Openings are commemorations and businesses should showcase and present themselves to the community! It is an exciting time to acknowledge the hard work, time and resources invested  and is truly an opportunity to celebrate.

Enjoy the experience and make it a time to remember by inviting family, friends, customers, neighbors and vendors.

THE CHAMBER WILL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Invitation for public officials to attend the event
  • Press release (if needed) distributed among media outlets and posted on the Chamber’s website
  • Inclusion of the event on the Chamber’s website
  • Photo/video promotion on the Chamber’s social media
  • Ribbon and scissors
  • Invitation for Chamber members

THE BUSINESS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

                • Provide the Amherst Chamber with two to four weeks advance notice of desired ceremony
                • Designate one person to make arrangements and act as the official contact person for the event
                • Arrange for company representative(s) to be at the ribbon cutting and appear in the photos
                • Invite customers and friends to partake in the ceremony
                • Provide refreshments, if desired
