WHAT ARE THEY?
Professional Networking groups, or ProNet, consist of Amherst Chamber of Commerce members interested in networking and promoting themselves and their business. The mission is to provide a forum for business members to expand their market base for their product or service through networking.
WHO ARE THEY?
The various ProNet groups are industry exclusive. Members from any industry are allowed to join as long as they do not conflict with another member. Members in the group are diverse and represent a number of industries.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
ProNet groups are a fantastic way to get to know other Chamber members and provide a casual setting in which to promote business and develop leads. They are not tip clubs. Attendance and participation is necessary in order to get the most out of membership. The groups meet twice a month and is included with membership (Side-Giggers are excluded; they would need to upgrade to a Sole Proprietor membership for ProNet). The ProNets are sponsored by the Chamber but each group is run by a member who acts as a facilitator.
HOW DO I JOIN?
It’s easy! Just fill out an application form provided by the Chamber. The Chamber office will then review the application and place you in the appropriate ProNet group within 30 days of receiving the application. Because they are industry exclusive, there may be a waiting list for certain industries. As soon as a spot opens up you will be placed into a group. Email memberservices@amherst.org for assistance.
OPEN PRONET
Open ProNet generally meets periodically (check the calendar of events).
It is not industry exclusive and is open to all members. It typically runs from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. and includes introductions/elevator pitches and a guest speaker. Open ProNet often will feature a tour of a local businesses.
