Message from A.J. Baynes: July 2025
The summer has officially arrived in Western New York, and I hope our entire membership is taking advantage of all our community has to offer. The Chamber is coming off a red-hot, Small Business Awards Luncheon and Showcase that set another attendance record for the event. Our new location at the Buffalo Marriott Niagara proved to be an overwhelming success for our Showcase participants, with the additional space and increased participation. Our award winners were both humbled and ecstatic in their speeches. For those of you who missed the event, here is another look at our award winners:
Also, we are excited to have the Emerging Business Leaders Summer ProMix this month! This energetic and fun after hours networking gathering for the young professionals in our community is at a fan-favorite Hartman's Distilling. This event is open to the community and sure to be a hit with lots of giveaways!
With every single chamber event that we host, from ProNet to Lunch Mob, to our large-scale events such as the Small Business Awards Luncheon and Showcase, we strive to create connectivity among our membership. This past Small Business Awards Luncheon did just that, we have heard from countless showcase participants of the leads they have generated from being in the room, we have heard from attendees of the connections they made as they worked their way around the room, and we have even seen a podcast between two of the winners take place. At the start of every new member orientation, we are focused on bringing people together, building your business, and being an extension of your brand.
We're keeping our membership engaged over the next two summer months, and this coming Thursday is our next Lunch Mob downtown at Fat Bob's Smokehouse, located in downtown Buffalo. With their fantastic patio and great summertime food, it is the perfect way to enjoy a Thursday afternoon lunch during the summer. We hope you register by clicking here.
Our next Lunch & Learn is Friday, July 18, centered around demystifying the misconceptions around virtual assistance. Lunch is provided at no cost to our membership, and these Lunch & Learn events are to educate our members on a variety of topics throughout the year. Sophie Bautista-Sales from WE R Solutions will be on hand to provide the benefits of utilizing such a service. For more information, please click here.
Rounding out the month, on Thursday, July 24, I encourage all new members, and even longtime members, to attend our New Member Orientation. We will focus on all the Chamber has to offer its members by way of programming, advocacy, connectivity, and how to maximize the benefits of your membership. We always encourage longtime members to attend or send new associates, as this is a great way to see if you're taking full advantage.
As we look towards the fall, we remain focused on representing your voice. If you have programming needs or business challenges that you'd like to address, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping our future initiatives. Also, be sure to take some time to enjoy the summer; please remember my door is always open.
